The Epic course remains substantially unchanged compared to the previous year. With its 105km and 3300m D +, the Sila Epic is the second longest marathon in Italy. Even more challenging with a time gate set at 1:00 pm. A race more and more for real Epic Bikers. We will start from the main course in the village of Camigliatello Silano and we will continue on asphalt, for a first stretch, towards ski lifts and then on a dirt road towards Monte Curcio almost to its top. The place of start will be at 1300m s.l.m., the course will arrive several times at altitudes between 1700m and 1950m s.l.m. We will ford torrents, skirt the lakes, cross clearings, endless pine forests and isolated and wild territories. The Epic course will cross the most beautiful locations within the Sila National Park and will feature challenging and long climbs and fantastic single tracks. Lorica, Croce di Magara, Zarella, Fossiate, Macchialonga, Spirito Santo, Valle dell'Inferno are just some of the splendid places that will be crossed. Monte Curcio (1750m s.l.m.) and Monte Botte Donato (1980m s.l.m.) the two toughest climbs. The Porcina mountains (1826m s.l.m.) and Serra Ripollata (1862m s.l.m.) are the two longest. From the 2018 edition the Epic course, and from this year also the new Marathon course, presents itself to the athletes with a challenging and very technical single track, path 437, which will put a strain on all bikers, even the most experienced. But be careful, in order to cover it you will have to respect the times of the gate set at 13:00 at km 62. More details in the Timetable.
